Biography

I’m Teyo Kane.
I'm an artist, singer-songwriter, keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer, mixer, and producer. My journey in music spans over 30 years and has gone through many diverse phases. It all started when I was two years old, banging on a piano in my childhood home. That early spark led to a worn-out drum set in my parents' garage, which eventually gave way to a growing collection of rock keyboards—funded by summer jobs and a little help from my parents.

From the beginning, my music has been rooted in the American rock tradition—often referred to as classic rock—but my journey has spanned a wide array of genres: from the bluesy hard rock of the ’80s to the intricate depths of ’70s prog; from electronic and sample-based compositions to ambient instrumentals; from psychedelic dance grooves to alt/garage indie; from mainstream pop/rock to sweaty, organ-driven New Orleans funk.

In the hazy '90s, I toured Finland as a keyboardist with several rock bands and had the privilege of being part of Helsinki rock scene during what felt like its last golden era. Career highlights from that time include collaborations with Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe, Havana Black, as well as Estonian blues legend Riho Sibul. I also had the pleasure of working with Hannu Leidén and Petri Majuri at Seawolf Studios in Suomenlinna—one of Finland’s most renowned recording studios—taking on roles as a musician, recording engineer, producer, and more. Those fast, chaotic years gave me many of my credits as a session musician and some of the most intense experience I’ve gained in the music world.

Eventually, as the loud, high-flying rock 'n' roll years faded, I returned to my roots in Eastern Finland in 2004. I bought a house, settled down with my newly formed family, and built my own modest studio. Since then, I’ve worked on a variety of projects, steadily expanding my creative palette and skills.

Navigating through life—with all its phases, setbacks, and quiet breakthroughs—raising two amazing kids along the way, I’ve quietly been brewing my first truly solo project. “Solo” in this case means I’ve literally played, sung, and produced every instrument on every track of every song myself.

Finding my true voice has been a long journey. It required exploring many paths and enduring many stages of life. Despite the setbacks, struggles, and darker chapters, those experiences became the foundation of my music. Every twist and turn was essential to uncover what was really inside me.

Looking back, I realize that my sound has come full circle—returning to the classic American rock landscape, now deeply enriched by everything I’ve absorbed along the way. What matters most to me now is digging deeper and expressing the emotions, lessons, and stories I’ve collected over the years.

The past decade hasn’t been easy. I've struggled with creative blocks and the tendency to keep my light hidden. But now, both in terms of the world’s timing and my own readiness, it finally feels right to begin releasing music.

So, I’m starting to put my songs out, one by one, letting them find their form naturally.
Whether they’ll become a full “old-school” album—or maybe even a vinyl release—remains to be seen. This is my way of bridging the old and the new: releasing music on today’s terms, while honoring the album as a format.

Time will tell.

With that spirit, I invite you to join me on this musical and spiritual journey.

Peace, Love, and High Vibes.
